February Fun!

You guys - I am down to just one kiddo who is willing to don a Valentine's Day shirt to celebrate the holiday! Wah! Here is my little love bug Leo looking handsome and festive.

He came home with a big candy haul!

Of course we celebrated at home with treats like gummy X's and O's.

And heart shaped pancakes for the win!

Had to make a stop at the Dollar Tree for some Valentine's balloons.

Lucy hosted a Galentine's Event - everyone was assigned a charcuterie board theme, it was so cute!

Love this group of fun girlies!

Leo reaped the benefits of the leftovers. ;)

Do you remember when I posted that Roman had the flu this winter? This guy was down for the count for several days and then, once he returned to school and did a basketball practice, he must have worked too hard because he had the hugest swollen glands in his neck! Dan and I thought he might have mono so we took him to the Urgent Care. Thankfully he tested negative for mono, just those lingering flu germs being nasty.

I had President's Day off and I honored the holiday by cleaning out our disaster of an Arts & Crafts cupboard and taking a big ol' load of treasures to the thrift store.

Roman went to the Northstar Polar party to celebrate Valentine's. They always have a fun Photo Booth and props.

Here is what they posted on their Facebook page. Makes me smile!

I had to include this snapshot of Leo's spelling test. I had to laugh at word #3 - I am pretty sure that 'meme' was not a spelling word back in 1986 back when I was in 1st grade.

Dan and the big kids headed to the Ruffed Grouse Society banquet this February. As always, they enter all kinds of drawings and raffles and try to WIN BIG!

The did get a few treasures this year including a nice leather briefcase.

Woohoo - a few prizes, a nice meal, thoughtful speakers - a good night for sure!

Lucy participated in the sweetest after school sewing group & made this adorable sweatshirt.

I mean, just look at the details!

Speaking of sweatshirts, this kid was excited to inherit his brother's leopard gecko hoodie.

I haven't shared much about our elder dog on the blog recently - Ranger is still going strong! He is getting more gray these days but still has a ton of energy. He loves trips to the dog park, especially in the winter when he can play in the snow. He also loves to share a bed ;) I am pretty sure he is as long as Leo!

This was one of my typical cozy spots this winter season - sitting by the fire at the orthodontic office. Bhahaha!

Roman had a bunch of work done so I took him to DQ for a treat afterwards - I looked in the freezer and they were selling this random ice cream cake. In case you can't read the text, it says:

'I got you a Goose Cake'
What the heck! Hahaha!

Winter Wonders

Here are some Storm household happenings from late January & early February.

It is winter so you know it is puzzle time! This one was actually quite challenging with all of the snow and sticks.

Lucy has been working to perfect her fun coffee drinks.

Well, we crossed a new bridge as parents - we took our first kiddo to the orthodontist for a consult! Wowza. It turns out that Roman needs both a job expander and braces.

We rummaged under our beds to find missing library books. ;)

Lucy got a haircut and her little bro came along for the wait.

Here is our little cutie with her new hairdo.

Speaking of haircuts - this guy got a trim as well.

Leo worked on some of his birthday and Christmas projects - he got a fun volcano kit and could not wait to paint this plaster mountain and make it explode.

Doesn't it look amazing?

Lucy loves to bake and made some delicious sour dough for our family.

Mr. Roman stayed busy with basketball tournaments this winter. Yay for Husky Hoops!

We took a trip to Minnesota to celebrate our favorite 3 year old!

This year Teddy had a sledding party! So fun!

We don't always have enough snow for this type of a celebration so it is a treat to hit the sledding hill with all of the cousins.

It was quite slippery so we had to remind Grandma to be careful!

Roman was at a birthday party in Eau Claire for one of his buddies but the rest of the gang was in Roseville in honor of Mr. T.

Happy Birthday Dear Teddy!

We love this little guy to pieces!

Our basketball star started a tournament at Chippewa Falls but quickly started to feel like garbage.

We took him home where he spent many days battling the flu. {At least I think it was the flu - we did not have him tested} Ugh - somehow the rest of our household avoided the illness!

One of our favorite events this seasons was watching the winter Olympics!

Puzzling + Olympic viewing is the absolute best!

Lucy went door to door with her Girl Scout cookie sales!

When she wasn't out selling Thin Mints, our girl was in the pool.
Here is Lucy at the meet in Wausau.

Can't beat earning a ribbon! We love watching her do what she loves.

Good news - the swim meet wrapped up with enough time for us to drive back to Eau Claire and prep food for our Super Bowl Party. Yum!! Snack plate of champions!

As usual, Lucy made a football brownie for dessert.

We only have 1 kiddo participating in elementary school Valentines parties this year. Wah!

We went to see Dr Manju for a 7 year well child check. This year Leo weighed in at 66 pounds (93rd percentile) and measured up at 4 feet 4.5 inches (98th percentile). He is growing like crazy!

Leo joined a city basketball program this winter - he did a good job of learning the b-ball basics.

Our silly guy celebrated his 100th day of school!

Dan and I had a Parents Night Out sponsored by our church, we dropped off the Storm children and promptly headed to Cajun Reds.

Delish!
