Painting Party and other happenings

We decided to add a little elbow grease to our children's room project and help paint the walls! In theory we thought that we might save a little bit of money (haha!) by doing it ourselves but it ended up taking a lot more paint than what we anticipated. When all was said and done we used 12 gallons of paint to cover 2 bedrooms, 1 linen closet, 1 bathroom, and 1 hall. Wowza! The walls have a very small amount of texture and it really sucked up the paint! We did have a fun painting party - a big thanks to Ken and Nola for helping with the project! :) Lucy's room is yellow and cheerful - just like her room in Madison and Roman's room is green - perfect for his sweet forest friends theme.
Here are some pictures of our crew -

It is a lot easier to paint walls when there is no trim up or flooring down yet! :) Nola did the details work by the ceiling and the rest of us did the walls. There is something a little bit strange about the lighting in the pictures so the green in the photo of Ken and Dan looks very bright, like neon green. The color is really not that crazy in real life, I think that this photo of Nola is a little bit more accurate.

Of course we didn't work all weekend! :) Grandpa Ken and Lucy made pancakes.

We visited the Childrens museum in Eagle River on Saturday morning! Lucy always greets this wolf with a big hug. She loves playing with the babies in the cabin too.

This was the first time that we visited the museum where Roman really got to play. It is so much fun to see him explore and learn along with his sister.

As always, Lucy drove the ambulance. On this day, she wore a ballerina costume while she drove grandma and Roman. :)

When we returned home from our museum adventures, we met Uncle Glen, his friend and his girls at our house. They were headed to a wedding at a nearby town that Saturday so they stayed at our house. What fun! Lucy love, love, loved hanging out with the girls. Isabelle and Sydney read her lots of books. It was so cute to watch!

Here is Lucy on Isabelle's lap and Roman on Sydney's lap.

We played dress up - here is Dan sporting giraffe/cowgirl attire. What a guy!

Here is a snapshot of our little family - I am always happy to have someone available to take a family photo. Us with the kids - Lucy @ 2.5 years and Roman @ 9 months. So sweet!

On Sunday after church, we met some of our friends for a picnic at Pioneer Park.

Roman is getting so big and he looked like a giant next to little Evelyn who was just a few months old.

Best part of the picnic according to Lucy - she got an ice cream treat!! Our girl is a huge fan of ice cream. :) A perfect summer day.
