A Near Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend with the cousins.
Our 4 year old crowd loved the bouncy house.

Baby Teddy is getting so big!

We made a visit to Carson Park - always a favorite place to visit.

We pretended to be spiders.

What a beautiful May Saturday - this lil pack of kids is so fun!

We admired the green trees, watched Half Moon Lake, and felt the breeze in our hair.

Can't believe that Lucy will be a middle schooler soon.

Later in the afternoon Uncle Daniel babysat this sweet little nugget.

Because the rest of us went to see the live action Little Mermaid movie in the theater! It was so good!

On Sunday morning our family was in charge of treats for Fellowship Hour.

The freewill offering covered some of the sleep away Bible camp costs for the kids.

This guy loves snuggling his baby cuz.

We were headed to the cabin for a Sunday Funday. Pickles - Check, Potato Salad - Check, Patriotic cat kookie - Check. I was ready for Memorial Day! ;)

We enjoyed a beer outside!

And took a nice walk in the woods.

Lucy especially loves spending time on the land - Can you see that cool feather she found!

We ended our afternoon with wiffle ball ...

...and a competitive corn hole tournament!

Eau Claire always has a great Memorial Day parade so we packed up all of the kids and headed downtown on Monday morning.

Unfortunately this one had a giant puke in the van on our way to the event, hence the plastic bag dress and the blog post title of 'A Near Perfect' weekend. :(

Mama and Leo headed home for bath time and van cleaning while the rest of the fam enjoyed the parade.

Here is our patriotic crew!

Leo and I zipped back downtown to retrieve our family. He was pretty quick to recover and wanted to wave his tiny American flag.

We all had popsicles and the Cihaceks went back to the Cities. The Storm kids took naps and laid low. We didn't have nay upset tummies as the day continued, so I figured it was a weird car sickness situation/random vomit for Leo this time around.

It was such a nice afternoon and Leo seemed to be just fine so we went to Lake Altoona for a swim. Yay! Please note that these kids still had a full week and a half of school ahead of them. Ai yi yi.

We were able to watch the Ski Sprites during their practice. So cool to see their waterskiing routines!

Everyone had a good Memorial Day Weekend.

Bring on Summer!

Mid-May Updates

In May we picked out new colors for Leo's room! Goodbye Pink, Hello Rivulet and Little Blue Box! :)

I attended a conference with a Tribal IT organization and we had an activity involving copper work - kind of fun to work with a hammer rather than a computer! Haha!

While I was at my event Leo went to Roman's baseball game.

Only in Wisconsin would a game need to have a timeout to shoo a porcupine off of the field. LOL!

Speaking of Roman, here is his reading material of choice these days! Anything wrestling related. ;)

Back to our project in Leo's room - we took down all of his decor and Lucy helped a bit with the primer.

I took a break from the paint fumes to head to the city wide ALL 5th grader track meet. Leave it to Mother Nature to give the kids a 49 degree field day. No one seemed to mind too much except for me!! Hah!

Look at all of these award ribbons from the meet! Let's just say that Lucy was more successful at Field Day than her mama ... Heehee!

Lucy had her final Girl Scout party of the year. Leo loves that his friends Henry and Evanee have big sisters in the troop as well. This crew had lots of fun at Riverview Park.

Here is our girl, bridging to Cadette Girl Scouts.

After some chilly May days - the weather turned and provided me with the forecast that I had been waiting for all winter long! Yay!

Time for picnics!

And Lemonade stands! :)

Lucy and Leo worked to make some treats in the kitchen.

I spotted this gem of a bumper sticker in the Dance studio parking lot while picking up Lucy. Hah!

I finished up all of my painting! Woohoo! I even repainted our beloved children's dresser that was built by my great grandfather. I think it turned out pretty well!

I busted out my 1980's puzzle and vowed to finish by my 43rd birthday. A glass of wine and a big puzzle equals the evening of champions!

I saw someone wearing this HISS shirt with rock-n-roll kitties and I couldn't stop laughing! I knew Roman would love it so I tracked it down online and quickly purchased this treasure. Thank goodness for the Internet! ;)

Leo's day care has a day dedicated to deep cleaning in May so Mama and Leo spent some extra time together going to the park and visiting local garage sales. So much fun with my sweet boy!

We got home and painted in his 'new' water WoW book.

One of our errands was picking up Lucy's trombone just in time for summer lessons. Can't wait to attend some middle school concerts!

Roman had an end of the school year sleepover with his best bud Owen. We played at Sam Davey for a bit before heading back home for the evening. Do you see that Owen is wearing an ACDC shirt? Roman has the same one! These two love their rock-n-roll T's.

We also blew up the bouncy house for these 2 - probably not designed for 2 nine year olds but they had a blast.

Nice weather - check, picnics - check, neighborhood thrift sales - check ... our household is officially excited for Memorial Day and summer time!
