Travel Woes!

I crisscrossed the country today in an attempt to get home from beautiful Fresno, CA.

I flew from Fresno to Salt Lake City and patiently waited 6 hours until my flight to Minneapolis was officially cancelled. :( So I was rerouted through Las Vegas to Minneapolis to Madison. If all goes well, I should make it home tonight!

Dan asked if I was going to play the slots. I declined. Iwas feeling very unlucky this afternoon.

PS This blog post was officially created at 30,000 feet! Yay for wifi access on Delta.

16 week visit

I had my 16 week visit to the doctor today! Here is the latest and greatest:

Weight gain = 3 pounds in the past month

For the first time in my pregnancy the nurse was able to find the baby's heartbeat using the doppler rather than an ultrasound! Today our baby's heartrate was 154 bpm.

The doctor asked me if we wanted to find out the baby's gender at our next appointment and I officially declined! Baby Storm's gender will remain a surprise until November. :)

Sunday at the Storms

We had a quiet Sunday at the Storm residence this weekend. Here are a few photos of the day.

Dan prepared for camp! He is spending 2 weeks at the Kemp Natural Resources Station in Northern Wisconsin. He will be teaching wildlife students and helping with field research. He is living the dream! Dan reported that the scenery is beautiful and the lodge is awesome. Watch the blog for photos because I am going to visit him over the Memorial Day holiday weekend!

I finally (!) took all of my winter clothes out of the closet and moved in the summer wardrobe. Yay for summer!

This photo is technically from Monday breakfast. I was making eggs and I got 2 double yolks in a row! Crazy! How often does that happen?

New York City!!

I recently had a work trip to Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dan flew in and we spent a long weekend in the City. We had a great time! The weather was spectacular, it felt like summer.

Since it was Dan's first time in NYC, we did a lot of sight seeing!

We took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This is a photo that Dan took from the back of the boat. Doesn't it make your heart stir with patriotic pride? :)

Dan and I with the skyline in the background.

The Statue of Liberty

Ellis Island

Ellis Island had a great museum on immigration. This is a picture from the registration hall. The ceiling and tiling were beautiful!

This is just a photo in honor of the recent Royal Wedding. :)

We visited the World Trade Center Memorial site. We stopped by the site the day after President Obama laid a wreath on location so it was super busy! They are making a lot of progress on the new tower, it is already 60 stories tall.

We stopped by Chinatown!

In addition to Coach and Rolex knock offs, we saw lots of interesting things at the market.

Including crabs...

...and bullfrogs!

Canal Street subway stop! The New York City subway is one of the best places to people watch in the entire world.

Our hotel was very close to Times Square. Here are some pictures of the lights:

We stopped by NBC studios.

This is a shot of Dan's (and Michael Scott's) favorite New York City pizza joint :)

We spent a few hours in Central Park on Saturday afternoon. It was great!

We watched kids racing toy boats in the park!

We walked all over the the city and had a great trip. We stopped by the big FAO Schwartz store and bought a gift for our little baby. The pregnancy continues to go well! Dan keeps asking me when I will get into my nesting phase and starting cleaning the house more often. :)

Baby Picture

Here is one of our first pictures of baby!

This our little babe at just over 12 weeks. He/she has 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 hands, and 2 feet. Yay!

Royal Wedding!

As you know, the Royal Wedding took place on Friday morning, April 29th! The wedding started at 11:00 AM in London which is 5:00 AM in Madison, WI. So who gets up at four in the morning to watch the blessed event? Yours truly! :)

I woke up at 4:45. I was able to tune in just as the lesser Royals were arriving in all of their awesome hats.

Dan declined to watch the historic event with me but the dogs were excited to get up in the early morning hours and lounge in the living room with me.

I love weddings! This one was beautful! I don't know if it was the pregnancy hormones or the early morning hour but I almost cried more than once. It was great.
