We kicked off our first weekend in June with a swim in Half Moon Lake. Everyone was happy to splash around.
Roman brought his favorite donut floatie along for fun.
Leo enjoyed feeling the sand in his toes!
Back at the ranch, Daniel and Brad smoked meats all afternoon.
Here is the delicious result (+potato salad!)
The children begged and begged for a summer party with their friends. We agreed to drag out the slip and slide, cut up a watermelon, gather up some juice boxes, and call it a party for the neighborhood kids.
Here is Lucy with one of her neighborhood besties, Abby. :)
The kids ate a ton of melon! That is okay by me - I hate watermelon anyway! Haha!
I can't believe that these tall, elementary aged children still enjoy hanging out in a kiddie pool but they do!!
Roman played with his buddies Wyatt and Owen.
After a delicious brunch of sweet and savory crepes, Uncle Brad and the big kids headed to Fargo.
This uncle of the year drove our 2 crazies all the way to North Dakota.
They even stopped for an ice cream treat along the way.
Meanwhile Leo was living his best life at home with all of Mom and Dad's undivided attention.
Don't let this face fool you - he was on the way to swim lessons which he loves. :)
Summer time = Sandbox time at daycare!
The children also had a worm discovery session and Leo was thrilled.
Leo brought home a bunch of fun art from the Bumblebee Room.
I especially love this dragonfly and it is hanging on my work bulletin board at the moment. :)
Here are some spring flowers...
and a sweet family portrait.
Love my precious lil artist!
Because the big kids were gone, I had a little extra time on my hands so I sorted through a few boxes and organized a few old things. I found this little treasure of a picture from when I moved to Madison back in August 2003. I am still laughing/crying at Kevin's hilarious hair/hat. Bhahahaha!
Meanwhile, in Fargo, Lucy and Roman were living their best lives! Both of the children love using Grammy and Grandpa's exercise equipment. :)
The kiddos were happy to attend a fishing themed Vacation Bible School program at Ken and Nola's church.
They learned all kinds of new songs and - spoiler alert - upon their return home, I caught Roman on multiple occasions belting out one of these tunes while he was in the shower. LOL!
They attended VBS in the mornings and played in the kiddie pool in the afternoons.
It was a great place to cool off!
The kids started off each day with a healthy breakfast. Roman still hates eggs... :( We have him try a bite or two every few months to see if his taste buds change so this was Romy's chance in June to taste a hard boiled egg bite. No changes to report, he still is not a fan.
The kids went on lots of adventures with Grandma Nola and Uncle Brad plus they had some downtime to play fun games and hang out at home.
Check out these awesome VBS crafts!
Even with their busy week, the kiddos still found time to do some sewing with Grammy. Lucy made this beautiful tote bag.
Roman worked on this fabulous Scooby Doo pillow case. :)
The kids were pumped to visit Uncle Brad's house too! Here is Roman with his VBS issued t-shirt plus a big pile of Goosebumps books that Brad found for him. Best day ever!
Playing video games with Uncle Brad is one of Lucy and Roman's most favorite things in the world.
Grandma even found the time to give Roman a much needed haircut!
Everyone returned home with happy hearts and special gift for their baby brother ... his very own Paw Patrol pillow case!
Leo was so excited to snuggle with Chase, Marshall (whom he calls Marshmallow), Skye, Rubble, and the crew. Thanks for the great week in Fargo Nola, Brad and Ken!
