I kicked off my 38th year in the best possible way ... by getting some extra snuggles with these 2 while Dan made breakfast burritos! My favorite! :)
We read a little bit together ... Lucy and I have been reading Little House in the Big Woods lately. It has been a blast from the past! Hahaha! I forgot about how much of the beginning book is basically about food prep, food storage, hunting, etc. Obviously stuff that was pretty important to pioneer life but Lucy and Roman art still trying to wrap their heads around the fact that they didn't have a refrigerator and freezer at the Ingalls household! :)
After finishing our chapter, we headed downstairs for our breakfast appetizer - pastries from Golden Harvest. Yum!!!
We lounged around for a bit and then headed to Minocqua for the afternoon.
They have such a nice beach at Torpy Park - we love going there! Roman brought along all of his favorite inflatables and then the lifeguard informed us that inflatables were not allowed in the swim area! Oops! Oh well, they made nice pillows for me as I watched the kids and read magazines!
It was a bright, sunny day - a perfect afternoon to play in the water!
Roman jumped off of the dock about a thousand times while Lucy opted to get out of the water and head to the playground.
Celebrating 38 years in Minocqua with my sweet kids! We had the best day. After the beach we went out for pizza at Minocqua Pizza Company!
We couldn't head home without a quick stop at Hoggie Doggies!
This kid was so excited for ice cream and then he accidentally dropped his cone in the dirt!
No worries though, Daddy bought him a new one. :) Crisis averted! ;) Both of the kids wanted sprinkles of course.
Both Lucy and Romy fell asleep on the way home so we tucked them into bed right away. Dan and I watched a movie and indulged with this perfect little raspberry cheesecake from Golden Harvest. The best!
After the movie I went to give the kids a kiss good night and realized that Roman had thrown up all over his bed!! Yuck! You can insert some joke here about me cleaning up a big pile of puke of my birthday ... sigh! It was pretty gross - We were thinking that he swallowed too much lake water with a belly full of pizza and ice cream = not a good combo! Poor little guy.
We ended the evening with this little nugget camped out on our bedroom floor!
Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes my way!! 38 is going to be a great year!
