It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Once Thanksgiving is over, we pivot to Christmas!
Of course we had to visit the holiday lights at Irvine Park with the cousins after Turkey time. :)

It was a crisp night but we still found the nativity ...

...and snuggled close to our cousins!

The children stole my phone a couple of times so my camera roll was full of blurry twinkle light pics.

Uncle Brad and the boys posed by the rat king.

Lucy loves the Nutcracker!

Thanks to Grammy Nola and Grandpa Ken for joining us on this fun and chilly evening. :)

Back at the ranch we baked our first batch of Xmas cookies. Yum! We love this sprinkle cookie - the more sprinkles the better. :)

At our house each of the kiddos has their own personal Christmas tree in their bedroom in addition to our big family tree. They love having these special tiny trees to fill with their precious ornaments.

I love these 3 so very much!

We did have a sad moment ... Roman lost one of his fave ornaments when his tree took a tumble off his desk. He asked me to please take a picture of his triceratops before we threw this guy in the trash. Whomp whomp.

We decorated our big family tree - one of our favorite days of the year. :)

Our little guy wanted a photo in front of the tree too! Can't believe that my baby will be 3 in just a few weeks!

Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Week 2021

Happy Thanksgiving from the Storm crew!

Whenever I spot a holiday themed shirt at a thrift store that fits my little guy - you know that I have to buy it! Haha! Leo was still on quarantine during Thanksgiving time so he stayed home all week long but he was in good spirits and looking festive.

We had planned to head to South Dakota for an early Turkey Day holiday since the kids get the full Thanksgiving week off. Our plans were thwarted by a COVID outbreak among the Dakota folks so we pivoted and stayed home. Roman was sad not to see his cousins but he did have a good time during extended play time with his favorite toys in the basement. Let the elaborate set up begin!

Dan and Ken had successful hunts this season so we had lots of deer butchering going on at our house.

Grammy Sharon came to visit and help hold down the fort while I worked. :)
The kids can always get their grandparents to play Star Wars Monopoly when their Mom and Dad decline. Hah!

When Dad is away at the hunting cabin, these 2 always find their way to my bed.

The kids spent the week working on crafts...

...and doing science experiments!

Here is what Lucy's 'To Do' list looked like during her break.

Leo has been obsessed with these Magic Ink books lately. He loves Baby Shark too so this is basically his 2 favorite things colliding.

The went to the Salvation Army with Grammy and drew some names of area kiddos who needed a Christmas gifts. Lucy and Roman were so excited to pick out gifts from children their same ages.

The kids all had a spa night complete with Lucy's new Orbeez foot massager that she got for her birthday.

We had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with Grammy Sharon. Here is a photo of our tablescape courtesy of Lucy and one with the crew sitting down to eat. Yum!

Dan took the big kids hunting with him, one at a time. First up - Roman.

Of course Roman took a quick nap in the blind. Nothing like some crisp fall air in the woods to put someone to sleep!

Good thing that Dan woke him up in time for a big event! Yay!

While the big guys were hunting - the L's and I zipped to Target. We got Leo the cutest winter sugar cookie at Starbucks. He was not a fan for some reason! Silly kid.

We made cranberry salad. Yum!

Dan took Lucy out to hunt as well! They did not get a deer during her time but she still had fun.

We celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday at Grandpa Ken and Grandma Nola's hunting cabin. While we were doing meal prep - Roman worked on his Kiss drawings.

Leo practiced guitar with his Uncle Brad. Can't wait for my boys to become rock-n-roll stars! ;)

Lucy was a great helper with food prep. You can't have a holiday without lefse, am I right? :)

Lucy also worked on potato dumplings with her Auntie Amelia.

We had lots of snuggle time.

We worked to create some festive turkey hats.

I mean just look at this little cutie with his turkey crown. So fun!

I am so very thankful for this pack of cousins!

We also played some fun Thanksgiving themed games. And, yes 100% of these crafts + games were procured from Hobby Lobby.

Here are some snapshots of sweet Thanksgiving Day Art hanging up in our house this year.

We had the best feast!

I mean just look at this plate of goodness. Yum!

After our meal we relaxed and napped.

We played.

And ate some more! ;)

Also on our schedule of Thanksgiving week events - going to a movie! We hadn't been to the movie theater in 2 years {Not since Frozen 2 back in November 2019!} so needles to say we were all pumped! We saw Encanto and the children loved it (Roman especially!) -- such a good show.

We found some time to celebrate our November and December 8 birthdays! This year Lucy turned 10 and Brad turned 39.

Happiest birthdays to our Late Fall/Early Winter people!

Love from our family to yours!

Gobble, gobble!
