Life Lately - End of September Happenings

Here are some scenes from life lately at the Storm household.

Despite the fact that summer is turning into autumn ... we are still enjoying popsicles in the evenings. :)

Lucy has been creating her own math worksheets and playing school with Romy. These are so cute!

We took out some of our fall decorations recently.

We attended Readers Theater featuring Mrs Lieck's kindergarteners last Friday! The kids read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See? Lucy and Kelsie read the part of the yellow duck. :)

I love my little reader!

We had a warm Friday evening so we headed out on an ice cream run. Woohoo for Jet's Dairy Bar! The Sprinkles were a big hit. ;)

We spent another Saturday afternoon at Buck Lake picnicking and swimming with Roman's friend Easton and his family. We had a blast! This is what we looked like when we returned home... Hahahaha! Dan and Lucy snoozed while Roman was wide awake! Classic.

We have been crafting...

And playing dress up! Beware of the tiger!

The kids love wearing their Halloween Jammies!

We had Ed, Amber & Miriam over for the Packers game, dinner, and a bonfire on Sunday evening. The best of fall!! The kids had so much fun playing together.

While eating a Smore, Lucy lost her second tooth!

The tooth fairy was able to find a dollar (whew!) and made a little note for Lucy.

Lucy was so happy to find her treasures from the tooth fairy on Monday morning. She had school picture day scheduled later in the week so I was so happy that she lost that tooth! Lucy has the cutest little smile!

One of my coworkers gave me these flowers this week and it totally made my day!

Lucy has ballet on Monday nights so this week Romy and I headed to the library instead of handing out in the studio. He still loves playing with the train table in the children's area! I love spending one on one time with my son. :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

Fall Consignment Finds

I always find a bunch of treasures at the biannual kids consignment sale! :) I just love going to this event each year. I do have to say that the selection is getting slimmer each year as the kids get older. I think that children are just harder on their clothes and wear them out at this stage of the game so there is less for parents to sell!

Here are some of my finds...

A few holiday and winter pjs for Lucy...

I found a couple of holiday dresses and a Halloween shirt!

Lucy needed long sleeved shorts and sweatshirts for the fall & winter months.

Lucy refuses to wear jeans these days ... I am hoping that she will agree to wear some cute jeggings!

I found a few fall dresses for my girl.

Now onto Roman ... I found a bunch of fun shirts for our little guy!

Roman was so excited to get some holiday gear! We love Christmas and Halloween pjs and shirts around our house!

Romy has very few pants that fit from last season so Mama found him a bunch of pairs!

I also found some cute church shirts/holiday sweaters.

I just love that I can get so much stuff for the kids for not very much money!!

When I go to the consignment sale, I focus on clothes but I do promise the kids one toy each. This year they both got 1 bag of figurines. Roman got a Superhero/ninja mix and Lucy got some princesses/Strawberry Shortcake people. They were so happy. :)

One last find to share ... Roman is bound and determined to be a werewolf for Halloween this year. He found his Daddy's werewolf face mask from circa 1985 (lovingly crafted by Grammy Nola) and fell in love with it! I saw these wolf-like slippers for $2 and I thought that they would be a good addition to the costume. He was pumped!! One scary little werewolf costume complete!

As long as I was in Wausau, I did a little bit of shopping for myself too! I went to one of my favorite consignment shops and I found these red Minnetonka moccasins. Aren't they cute?

I will close the post with one of my Fall sale jackpots -- matching Superman and Supergirl pajamas with capes! So much fun! I love Romy's cheesy face in this picture! Hahahaha!

I love my Super Kids!

Chasing Summer

We have been having some beautiful days this September so we are trying to take full advantage of time outside!

We have been coloring with sidewalk chalk. Lucy loves to draw Elsa these days. Aren't those eyelashes the best??

Romy was so proud of his heart! Can you tell that his sister told him what to draw? :)

We made a triumphant return to our Saturday music class! The kids really enjoy spending time with Ms Joanne and their friends. This year we are focusing more on piano basics. Lucy and Romy are doing things like finding groups of 2 or groups of 3 black keys, finding the D notes on the piano, learning the numbers of their fingers, etc.

After music last Saturday we headed to Buck Lake for a picnic. Romy found a caterpillar before lunch!

We found a toad too!

We invited Izzy and Kaitlin to eat lunch with us and go to the beach. It was the best lazy Saturday afternoon!

Friends, it was frog city at Buck Lake on this day. Our kids teamed up with some other children and they filled up a bucket with probably 100 frogs!!! It was crazy! After being handled by so many kids, I am sure these frogs were ready to burrow in the mud and hide until next spring! Hahahaha!

It was too bright for Roman to keep his eyes open for photos!

We had such a fun afternoon! The kids played mermaids and sharks with Izzy and splashed around for hours. We saw many friends on this glorious fall day - Gavin & Liam were celebrating their birthday with their family and shared some cupcakes with us! They even let the kids play with their new remote control cars for a bit. Woohoo! We also saw Elsa & Tatiana (or as Romy calls them - the church girls! Haha!) Roman cried the entire walk back to the car because he didn't want to leave and he promptly fell asleep within a minute of me driving out of the parking lot! Clearly good times were had by all.

On Sunday we had another picnic at home.

We spent the afternoon riding bikes and eating popsicles. We cheered for our beloved Packers and they still lost despite having the world's cutest fans!

Hope you had a good weekend! This was definitely one of those weekends where I didn't do a thing around the house ... it was just too nice out. I have all winter to clean the house and do laundry, right? ;)

This & That

It has been a very full week at the Storm household! Dan has been in Canada so the kids and I have been holding down the fort. This how mama is feeling at the end of the week ...

Hahahaha! TGIF!!

Here are some of our recent adventures from the week. Lucy found a crazy looking caterpillar with black spikes during one of our walks. We looked it up and found out that this guy is a hairy dagger caterpillar!

Lucy started a new year of dance on Monday. She will be in ballet again this fall. She is already practicing for her part in the Nutcracker! Her friends Marieke, Maeve, and Siri are in her same class so Lucy is very excited. Just look at our sweet ballerina!

Dan was out of town this week which meant that I needed to take both kids with me to Wausau on Tuesday evening to drop off several totes and boxes of stuff to sell at the fall children's consignment. I promised Lucy and Roman that we could have quesadillas for dinner if they were my helpers. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside.

Here are my "helpers"! Hahahaha! I definitely need to use air quotes around the word helper here. They carried in one load with me and promptly saw the rows and rows of toy tables!! They ran off to look at treasures while I unloaded, sorted and hung up clothes to sell. Oh well -- at least those tables kept them occupied while I worked! ;)

In the mornings Lucy and Romy would ask me to take pictures to send off to their Dad! There is often a fine line between sibling hugging and strangling at our house.

Ugh ... there are few things that will send our house into squalor more quickly than a broken washing machine. The plastic latch on the washing machine door snapped off last week and five l-o-n-g business days later this precious piece of plastic arrived at our door. It cost $6 for the part and $7 dollars in shipping and I nearly cried tears of gratitude when it arrived! 8 loads of laundry later and things are looking much better at home!

These two water babies started swim lessons again. :) We usually take a break during summer months but, now that fall is here, we are hitting the pool!

Finally, one of my new favorite things to share... Lucy's kindergarten teacher is always posting the best pictures of Lucy on Class Dojo! I just love these sweet photos of Lucy from school!

It is so awesome to see her blossom into a reader and writer! Lucy will even be in her first Readers Theater next week. :)

Lucy loves kindergarten!

Have a good weekend everyone!
