Not so Scary Halloween Trail

We are so lucky to have such an awesome YMCA in our neighborhood! They host so many great activities for families. This year we went to their Not So Scary Halloween Trail. The kids hike around their outdoor running trail and collect treats from various businesses.

Here are our Super Girl and Batman in the parking lot!

They are ready to go.

Here they are collecting candy at one of the stops along the way. Do you like Lucy's L cape? :) She got this from the Easter Bunny earlier this year and wore it as part of her Halloween costume this fall.

Their favorite stop - the Rhinelander police let the kids run through the back of a squad car!

Love these two!

Daddy ended up carrying Romy for part of the way. :)

This was another favorite - several super heroes with stations ... Roman and Lucy loved doing the Hulk Smash game. :)

Finally - here is one of Lucy spinning the steering wheel on the Pirate Ship as part of the Peter Pan exhibit. It was such a fun, crisp fall night!

A couple of other quick photos to share - We put up bat signs on the children's bedroom doors. Such a fun and inexpensive way to celebrate the season!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Artwork

Just wanted to share some of the kids' artwork. I just love these preschool pictures of people! They are the best. :)

Lucy has been learning a lot at 4K this year; it is so cool to see her discover new things. Here is a letter Aa/apple project from school.

This is something that she decided to do on her own at home! My girl loves apples.

The kids love to color and paint! We found a paint with water book buried in our craft cupboard. The kids thought it was so cool to color in these Hello Kitty drawings just by using some water. Here is some early morning paint by water in pajamas going on at our house. Love it!

Sunday Afternoon at Nicolet Field

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at Nicolet Field -- having a picnic and running around.

Lucy made a windsock at Sunday school and was excited to run with it around the big field. :)

We had a great picnic! I still can't believe that we had such nice weather well into October.

Lucy even packed her butterfly wings for running - she had such a great time zipping around the field.

We brought Roman's T-ball set. He really did not use this equipment all summer but was eager to practice this fall! He was actually a pretty good little ball player. :) Can't wait to get him in t-ball this spring.

This place is always such a wonderful place to run and play.

Visiting the pigs!

This year we bought half of a pig from our friends Dustin and Susan. We went to the Bronson farm to visit our pig before he got turned into bacon! ;)

The kids were excited to see the piggies. Here they are wallowing in the dirt.

Lucy and Roman could not wait to give them some love.

Here is Mr. Dustin showing them the right way to pet the piggies.

We went to see the chickens at the farm too.

Romy loved visiting the chickens.

The kids checked out the coop and Lucy even helped gather some eggs. We had lots of fun on the farm.

Fun with Friends Up North

The Carlson family came up North for a weekend of family fun and hunting - we were so excited to spend some time with them. The ladies and kids headed to Hanson's for their fall fest. Despite the rain, we had a great time. The kids were pumped to go pumpkin bowling.

Each time that they completed a game, the kiddos got a treat. Lots of Halloween candy was gathered.

Putting on a blindfold for a pin the spider on the web game!

Lucy and Roman did the bean bag toss into the pumpkin.

We did a ring toss onto a bunch of pumpkins.

The children were so excited to get their faces painted! Of course Lucy chose to be Wonder Woman. :)

Here is the finished look!

Roman was ready to get his face painted too. He picked a Spiderman face.

Here is the finished face on our little dude.

Here are Lucy and Roman with their fun faces.

Lucy, Jonas, and Jacob dug through a bin of grain to find treats!

Here is a picture of the entire crew - Evelyn, Lucy, Johannah, Jonas, Roman, and Jacob. These kids are so cute!

There was a petting zoo there! Roman loved the ducks and geese.

Here is Jonas with a little chick!

Sweet little duckling.

After our fun at fall fest, we went home for naps and then met up at the McFarlands for dinner. Roman loves playing with Evelyn.

The adults had a feast! Check out all of this meat! Grouse, venison, salmon - it was awesome!

The kids enjoyed a movie night while we dined in peace! It was great! Thanks for coming to visit Rhinelander, Carlson family. :)
