So the first few days of 2021 were rough ... Between zipping back from the Dakotas, being swamped with laundry, Roman losing his school i-pad, craziness at work and, an insurrection at the Capitol - it was a bit overwhelming. As always, you gotta turn to memes for laughter and comfort. Hah!
This one pretty much sums it up:
This one is also too accurate! ;)
Okay - on to happier moments of early January!
Lucy is an expert banana bread baker! She is also very thoughtful and carefully places chocolate chips on exactly half of the loaf since we have people in our family who love little bites of chocolate in their bread and some who are not fans.
We went on snowy walks around our neighborhood.
My 2 L's like to zip down to the mailbox with their mama.
My third grader is growing up so fast! Lucy was quick to remind me that she would be turning 10 in 2021. Can't believe that she will be in double digits soon!
The big kids got snowshoes for Christmas from Grandpa Ken and Grandma Nola. They were eager to try them out and so we headed out to the land for some winter fun.
This guy zipped around on his own and refused to sit in a sled.
Lucy's jazz costume arrived - she can't wait for her spring recital!
The best thing to happen in January 2021? Leo's move to the 2 year old room at day care. I felt like he was getting a little bit bored with the babies and that it would be good to be surrounded by other talking toddlers, have more of a schedule, etc.
He was so happy to go downstairs and join Ms. Bev's room. I could see a difference in his speech and attitude right away. :)
His day care does have chapel and a religious curriculum that they follow. On this day they learned about John the Baptist and they practiced baptizing the babies.
Here is Leo the Baptizer in action!
He loved their milk jug igloo on display during the month of January.
As always, he gravitates toward phones and remote controls during playtime.
He looks like a little businessman here! LOL!
This is one of many science experiments that we did this January. One glass with blue food coloring, another with yellow and an empty glass in the middle. The children left this on the dining room table over night and returned to find a glass of green water in the morning. Good stuff.
Happy New Year everyone!
