Like always, the Storm fam worked to make the most of Spooky Season.
We headed to the Jeffers Park Trunk or Treat. This event is always a zoo but the kids love attending and they always see lots of friends.
Unfortunately I got a call from school that Leo was not feeling well so I picked him up early and he was asleep by the time we pulled into the garage. Uh oh - never a good sign!
The big kids still wanted to go to Jeffers without little bro so we zipped over after football practice. Roman's uniform served as his Halloween costume at this event. ;)
It was actually pretty dang cold at the event!
But we survived! Good thing we are so hearty. ;)
We got some warm cheesy breadsticks from Toppers along the way and lots of treats - including these freeze dried candy eye balls. Very fun.
This was our favorite trunk - Jurassic Park with dinosaurs and the movie soundtrack blasting. Top notch.
By the time we got home, Leo had rallied enough to review the candy haul. Haha!
At the end of October we went to Roman's championship football game. He loved playing tackle football this year and can't wait to do it again next season. Proud of him!
Of course it was a rainy Saturday morning so we bundled up and busted out our umbrellas.
Good news - they were selling hot chocolate at the concession stand. ;)
After the game we zipped through the Halloween event at Festival Foods.
The big kids were pushing the age limits here but it sure was fun!
Since Leo missed the Jeffers Park Trunk or Treat I took pity on him and we went to the Saving Grace Church Trunk or Treat just down the street. He especially liked this stop where he had to pick Frankenstein's nose for a treat.
My sweet lil Iron Man!
One of our treats this October was a visit with Madison! She was in the Eau Claire area so you better believe that we hung out. First thing on our agenda was a pedi. I hadn't had one in waaaaay too long!
Here are the girls :)
Yes! It feels so good to get those toes looking nice again!
After our pedicures we dropped Lucy off with a friend - they were going to a Haunted House that evening. I probably would have landed in that 'Cried' category.
Meanwhile the rest of us went to Cancun for supper! Gotta love Leo's tortilla mask. ;)
There he is!
Thanks for visiting us, Madison!
Lucy wrapped up an epic Cross Country season! She really hit her stride this year and finished her last race with another PR. Very proud of her - We would love to see her continue running but, in high school, XC is the exact season as Girls Swim so she will need to make a hard decision.
Leo started a fall basketball clinic at Flynn Elementary. When I dropped him off for practice, I saw this poster on the wall and had a good laugh - 'Please Vote for Me, I already Told My Mom I won' Bhahaha!
This goofy guy keeps us on our toes!
I am always finding funny notes and drawings that Leo leaves around the house. I mean, who doesn't crack a smile when a rooster is saying Hardy Har Har!
Tell your dog I said Hi! Grammy Nola has a water bottle sticker with this saying so I think that he copied it from there.
We definitely say Hi to all dogs including Mr. Chester who stayed at our house while Ken and Nola went on a trip to Europe. He is a very good boy.
In other October news, Katie turned the big 4-0 this year. An elder millennial born in the mid-80's? Of course we had an Oregon Trail themed birthday party! ;)
When we stumble across Lucy's glasses at home when she should be wearing them in the classroom, we need to take photographic evidence and text a threatening little note. ;)
We carved pumpkins this Fall -- One of my favorite traditions!
Leo is not a big fan of the pumpkin guts.
Here is Lucy's finished product - she opted for the Monsters Inc theme. Love it!
Leo battled through the squishy insides and created a very cute lil Jack-O-Lantern.
Our clever Roman embraced the 6-7 craze with his design. The neighborhood children were delighted.
Leo and I headed to Beaver Creek for their Halloween hike and Trick Or Treat event. It was awesome! Leo was definitely in his happy spot.
We parked in the overflow lot which means that we were able to run through the tunnel to get to the Nature Center. Leo was thrilled.
We played on the outdoor music trail.
We learned about critters during our Trick or Treat hike.
We said hello to some of our favorite taxidermy animals in the Nature Center.
We went on a beautiful night hike with luminaries and feasted on S'mores.
Last but not least, we had a story hour with animals.
Night of champions!
