Muffins and Moms & Other Happenings

Lucy's 4K class had a Muffins and Moms event! We celebrated Mother's Day, made crafts, and ate muffins together. It was so cute! Here is a sweet plant and handprint that Lucy put together for her mama.

Just a selfie of me and my girl. :)

Making a muffin craft.

We had muffins plus it was another child's birthday and she brought cupcakes to share! Muffins and cupcakes for snack.... Lucy thought it was the best day ever. We had lots of fun!

We left school early and went to pick up our Romeo. It was raining after school so we zipped over to the library for some fun. Roman always says hello to the pets as soon as he arrives.

Playing with a turtle before we read a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle book together. :)

Lucy quickly put a tea party together for Mama and Roman.

In other news ... Lucy has officially misplaced her first library book. Ugh! I have searched our house from top to bottom for this one and we cannot find it anywhere!!

Thursday night is swim lesson night at the Storm household! Roman and Lucy love, love, love the pool. On this night, they were going over swimming safety so they were wearing life jackets.

Our happy girl splashing in the water.

One more picture of life lately ... Lucy and Roman put together a 'school bus' upstairs. They had so much fun and sat in this pretend bus to play all evening! :) I love it when my children are creative and play nicely with each other.

Mother's Day 2017

I am so, so blessed to be the Mama of these two kiddos!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year! We kicked off the day with the usual Sunday activities - Lucy made me this sweet craft in Sunday School.

Daniel made us breakfast burritos for brunch. Yum!

The kids presented me with some Mother's Day interviews from Day Care. They were so cute! Just for the record - when Roman says that I am a good sewer - he means sewing like a seamstress not like a sewer with poop! Hahaha!

My Lucy is just so sweet! :)

Lucy made me this awesome suncatcher!

After brunch we headed to the greenhouse to buy some plants.

These two had lots of fun picking out plants with me!

They saw this butterfly bench at the store and wanted to take pictures on it right away for Grammy Sharon (They know she loves butterflies!)

We had a short nap and did lots of planting during the late afternoon!

Here is what our deck is looking like these days. :) Can't wait for summer!

And ... Dan gave me a wireless speaker for Mother's Day! Woohoo! So great to actually hear my streaming radio and podcasts! :)

And, as a blast from the past, here are a few pics from Mother's Days gone by ...

As always, big hugs and kisses to all mamas out there, especially my mom and mother-in-law! You do so much for your families! Love you so much and appreciate all you do! xoxo

Spring Dance Recitals

We had another fun semester of dance followed by an afternoon and evening recital. That makes for a very full Saturday for these little dancers (and their mamas!).

Lucy took tap class this spring. She loved it!

The tap kids performed a song from the movie the Frog Princess.

Here is our little tapper with her proud baby brother. Love these two so much!

The ballet dancers performed the Wizard of Oz so during intermission the children quickly selected an over the rainbow cupcake as a treat. Aren't they cute? There was a yellow brick road, a rainbow, and marshmallow clouds on top.

After the evening show, we went out for dinner to celebrate the another successful season of dance. Here is a selfie of mama and Roman.

Lucy and her Dad.

On our walk back to the car, we had to make a stop to snap a pic with a Hodag. Gotta love downtown Rhinelander.  ;)

We are so proud of our dancer!

Life Lately - Mid-May

Here are some recent happenings from the Storm Household - Lucy had dress rehearsal for her dance recital at the Rhinelander High School Auditorium. She thought that she was pretty big stuff dancing on this stage. :) There will be a full post on her spring performances coming soon.

Waiting her turn for the tap dance number.

Roman has been riding his scooter quite a bit. He has knee and elbow pads which he calls his, 'I-Pads'. Hahaha! He fell on his bottom once and commented to Dan, 'Dad - I need an ipad for my butt!'

Roman's classroom spent a week learning about bugs at day care and they made these buggy crowns as a craft.

One more art project from day care - Roman proudly presented me with a coloring of a woodchuck. Hahaha! I love it.

Dan has the elk collars hanging in front of the house and this cool kid wanted a picture with them.

I found this meme and had a good laugh! This sums up some of my mornings with Roman. He does not like to change out his lounge pants and pj bottoms.

I love a clean baby! My Romeo still lets me snuggle after bathtime. Now that the kids are playing in the sandbox at daycare almost every day we are taking baths almost every evening. The sand is everywhere!!

That's life lately!

12 Pictures on the 12th

Here are 12 snapshots of life around the Storm household on May 12th.

My sweet Roman has a favorite number from Music Class, it is a song that goes through the lifecycle of a dandelion. The kids listen along and get to act it out from the seedling in the wind, sprouting out of the dirt, swaying in the sun, to becoming a puffball again. This guy was born to do interpretive dance! Hahahaha! I love it!

Just a boy and his dog. :) We are quickly approaching Ranger's 2nd birthday and we can not imagine life without him at the Storm residence! He is the best pup.

These shoes are my absolute favorite for spring! (Please disregard my super white legs!! Come soon, summer weather!) The shoes are perfect to slip on quickly and take Ranger for a walk, they are super comfy and sporty and the color is awesome! I got them very cheap from Eddie Bauer at an end of the summer clearance last year and I am very happy with them. :)

Sticker time! Lucy was busy decorating Mother's Day cards for the grandmas and she happened to find this goofy mustache sticker in the mix.

I love that grilling season is finally here! Yay! Dan grilled some chicken and I made a Tabouli salad one day this week - delicious.

We got out the Kinetic Sand for playtime one evening. These two loved it!

As part of the nightly routine, Roman has become very faithful about picking out his outfit for the next day. He is so funny, he will lay everything out in exact order from his shirt to undies to pants to individual socks. He is way more particular and precise about this selection than Lucy ever was/is! :)

One more craft from Lucy's Earth Day celebrations at 4K. :)

We went to a Kindergarten Readiness event this week at Crescent Elementary School. The parents had a meeting while the kids played and then the children came to the cafeteria to eat dinner. Lucy and Roman enjoyed corndogs with the MacFarland kids before we jetted off to swim lessons.

One Mom Fail realization from the evening was a review of this sleep chart. Lucy and Roman get up around 615 each morning which means they should be in bed by 700(?!?!) That literally has never happened. We are most definitely in the 800 to 830 range at our house. Ai yi yi!

Finally, as we enter Mother's Day weekend, I had to include this Mother's Day meme with cartoons of the Full House Dads! It just cracked me up! Hahaha!

Happy Friday!
