Roman is 12!

Our Roman is 12! He is always ready to celebrate - we spent time partying at Action City with his friends and had a birthday dinner in Roseville with the cousins. He is our fisherman, our biggest football and baseball fan, the most creative guy and the friendliest kid.

A birthday party at Action City is a treat for the sibling as well!

You can't beat a good jump into the ball pit. ;)

Lucy decorated Roman's cake this year - the sweetest football field!

Here is Roman with his buddies and, yes, he does tower over his friends! #TallKidProblems

You guys - I absolutely love how much effort these 11 and 12 year old boys put into birthday cards! The best! How awesome are these baseball logos courtesy of Owen. So great!

This crazy crew had their fill of pizza and treats.

And cake too - complete with a photo bomb!

Happy birthday son! We love you to the moon and back!

The boys (and Lucy!) had the night of champions!

Our birthday boy won a lot of prize tickets on this night, which were promptly redeemed for some treasures. ;) It was the best night.

It wouldn't be an August birthday without a trip to Roseville.  It is always a treat to get these cousins together. Pokemon for life! ;)

Awww - love this pack of kiddos so much!

Happy birthday to our dear August birthday boys. This year Roman is 12 and James is 9.

Of course of birthday boys were spoiled rotten with gifts. ;) Big thanks to Auntie and Uncles and Grandma and Grandpa for making the day special.

On his actual birthday - we had muffins for our big guy!

Fishing tackle and giant squishies are the gifts of choice this season. ;)

Cheers to 12!

August Updates

Here are some scenes from August life!

Leo got a fun paint by water book from Grandma + Grandpa at the Turner County Fair so, upon returning to Wisconsin, he got to work on his masterpieces. ;)

We got fresh new haircuts for the school year.

Lucy got several inches chopped off her hair at the end of the summer.

We worked to harvest and process lots of veggies this August! Lucy was on tomato duty at the land.

It was an awesome cucumber year - Roman was thrilled. He is our number one cucumber lover and could probably eat this entire box. ;)

Leo rediscovered the wonders of the Lite Brite.

I mean - just look at this majestic mountain scene. Love this classic toy!

Ranger thrives at the land; this is his happy spot! Do you think that his coloring matches the flooring at the shelter? ;)

Dan and yours truly chopped plums for jam.

Just look at how many jars of jam and plum sauce we helped with - spoiler alert, it was delicious and such a pretty color too.

We headed to Northstar for pictures and middle school schedule pick up. This young lady is an 8th grader this year!

Roman was very eager to move up to 6th grade. Here he is learning his locker combination.

We met teachers and got our big kids situated - can't believe we have 2 middle schoolers this year! Slow down time!

Lucy had some of her girlfriends over for an end of summer sleepover. They celebrated a new school year and shared their schedules.

Mama celebrated the end of summer with a visit to her eye doctor - Hah! Just looking forward to getting all of the children back on a regular schedule.

We love to go to River Prairie for picnics and music during the summer months. On this evening we ran into our neighbors - our Leo enjoys running around with Leo Fisher.

River Prairie is also a great place to splash, these two were soaked by the end of the night. Haha!

Lucy has been working with her Grandma Nola to learn some embroidery skills. Check out this skirt that she worked on - so cute!

Spotted this August - the boys' favorite toy machine. Insert eye roll here. To be clear, we have never purchased one of these delightful 'Butts on Things key chains but the Storm boys crack up so hard whenever they see this at the Dollar Tree. On this day it was empty!! So many people wanted a 'Butts on Things' item that all of the products were gone - Geez, only in America!

Roman is playing tackle football through the Chippewa Valley Youth Football League this season. Eau Claire public schools do not allow 6th graders to play tackle so this was a cool opportunity for Roman to try out the sport. He practiced with his team all August and the guys had their first scrimmages at the end of summer. Our Future Husky is looking like such a big kid.

So fun to cheer on our big guy!

Speaking of big guys - look at how tall these sunflowers are this season!

The neighbors 'Up the Hill' had a summer block party. We were lucky that Ken and Nola extended the invite to our household. The weather was perfect and the food was great - it was such a nice evening.

Owen was having a sleepover with Roman so he came to the neighborhood party too.

Gotta love these summer nights!
