Life Lately - Early October

Here are some updates from early October.
Our favorite local photographer moved to Wausau a year ago (insert frowny face here!) so we have been on the search for a new person to take some pics of the Storm kiddos. Good news - Leo's old 4K teacher takes photos as her side hustle. We were hoping for some nice fall foliage in the background but it was still really warm!

Ms. Nicole did a great job!

Love these pictures - Roman is always so happy by the time that we get to October because that means that his seasonal allergies are done.

My beautiful girl is almost a teenager!

I was glad to get some nice pictures of my baby during the window when he is missing his 2 front teeth.

Love these kiddos so much!

Lucy continued with her cross country season - super proud of her for setting new PRs at almost every race.

So fun to have Grandpa and Grandma at the Northstar meets!

Leo attended a Scouting event at Carson Park. He participated in a target practice with his bow and arrow and he loved working on a sail for a little regatta.

Carson Park was so beautiful on this October evening! The leaves were popping - this is 100% Leo's favorite playground in the city.

Leo was missing his bestie Nick who is Kindergarten at another elementary school this Fall. He asked me to take a picture with his Blastoise stuffy (a gift from Nick) and text it to Nick's Mom. Awwww!

Lucy went bird hunting with her Dad ..

So the boys and I headed to the apple orchard. :)

Apple cider donuts for the win!

Look at how tall my boys are getting! Roman is catching up with me fast - eeks!

I have the cutest little apple picker helper.

Roman is such a goofball and I am pretty sure that he ate a dozen apples on this day.

Roman is a pretty cute apple picker too. ;)

Lucy had the best day with her Dad and her dog.

Beyond grateful that Ranger made it to the woods this Fall after a long hiatus due to his health issues. He's back right where he should be, doing what he loves - chasing birds.

Lucy had a chance to go on a haunted walk in downtown Chippewa Falls with her Girl Scout troop. I joined the girls and we got to learn about the history of the town + heard some spooky stories. It was a fun evening! Here she is with Callie ahead of our stroll.

Here is the entire crew with our tour guide. Of course he was selling a bunch of merch and peddling his books after the tour (see this light and box of goodies) Haha!

The cherry on the top of the tour was that we all got a cheesecake treat at the end of the walk. We stopped at Josef's Cheesecake Cupcake shop with a voucher for a snack. They had dozens of flavors ... I chose the key lime version and it was top notch!

Happy October!

Fall Fun

 The Storm crew loves autumn.

We visited the Farmer's Market and Leo requested a festive little pumpkin from the balloon guy.

Of course when we visit the Farmers Market we pop into the library.

I checked out this book from the library - you know that I love a good biography and South Dakota stories so this was a must have. Dan told me that I have the same reading habits of a boomer man. Haha!

Leo enjoys puzzling - here he is with a Frida Kahlo one. I especially love his smile these days!

We had sleepovers with friends in September.

Leo does all kinds of crazy gymnastics moves - here he is doing some acrobatic maneuvers at Grandpa and Grandpas. ;)

Lucy had a mid-day medical appointment so we took the opportunity to stop by Culver's for lunch.

Lucy has been running Cross Country this Fall - we are very proud of her for trying something new.

I am very new to the Cross County world but it has been fun to attend some of these meets to cheer for our girl! Roman likes to tag along as well.

Lucy's best running buddy is her pal Nora.

Lucy and I went to a Taylor Swift event and you better believe that we donned mirror ball earrings.

We went to a Taylor Swift laser show and took Ember along with us. First stop - the District for dinner! Always a favorite.

We zipped over to the Pablo and ran into Callie in the lobby.

Of course we worked on some friendship bracelets before the show.

A DJ was basically blasting Taylor tunes and there was a big ol' laser show.

It was just like a Disney on Ice experience with overpriced light up accessories for sale. ;)

It was such a fun night for my little Swifties!

Haha - had to snap a photo in front of her cut out too!

Guess what - they were throwing shirts into the audience and Lucy was able to snag one ... there are definitely some benefits to being a tall girl! ;)

Speaking of eras ... we are always in our baseball and softball era around here!

Despite our focus on the baseball diamonds, we still cheered for our beloved Packers this September.

We were all shocked at how early Amazon sent out their gift catalogs! Our kiddos absolutely love paging through these magazines just like I used to do with my brothers back in the '80's! LOL

October 1st rolled around so we busted open our box of Halloween cereal - always a highly anticipated day!

We also found our Spooky season waffle makers - Skull and Pumpkin shaped waffles for the win!

Our best waffle maker is our cross country queen!

The boys' elementary school cheered on the Huskies at Homecoming. How are these posters? Roman was so excited to have the football players sign his North High baseball cap.

Lucy and her friends celebrated Ember's 13th birthday.

They all went to visit a haunted corn maze before having a sleep over. Not my cup of tea but the girls had a great time!

In addition to puzzles - Leo is a hug fan of circuits. He must take after his Grandpa Glen. ;)

Oh yeah - he is also a good model at Costco!

Dan and Ken were in the market for a new standing freezer and Leo was happy to inspect. Bring on hunting season!
