Growing Up!

When we took the dogs for a walk this weekend, I couldn't help but notice how much Lucy is growing!! Here is the stroller picture from her first walk with our pups:

And one from Sunday:

Can you believe how much our little girl has grown in the past 15 weeks??

Out with friends

Last night we went to the Great Dane to have dinner with friends and catch up with Dr. Karl Malcolm who is back in Madison for the weekend after recently moving to New Mexico.

Here is Lucy with her mama! Doesn't she look cute in her little overalls?

Lucy with her friend and favorite babysitter Ann!

Melissa stopped by after finishing her shift at the hospital! Lucy loves snuggling with her.

Daniel with his friends Jason and Karl

What a fun evening! It was great to spend time with everyone!

New Glasses

I recently got new glasses which is big news! It is an event that occurs just about once a decade so it is pretty monumental. I have had my previous pair of glasses since my college days. Yikes! The prescription was definitely not correct and they were so loose on my face that they have been known to fall off and hit Lucy in the head while I was breastfeeding. Oops! :)

Here are my new frames!!

Hopefully they will stay in style for the next decade. Unlike some of my previous glasses choices including:

And the Sally Jesse Raphael look...

Our Sweet Baby Girl

It was one year ago this weekend - Sunday to be exact - that Daniel and I found out that I was pregnant!! We were so excited to be expecting a baby. Here we are a year later with our sweet baby girl Lucy. She is the best! We are so blessed.

Mama and her little cowgirl. :)

We love you Lucy!!

Valentine's Day at the Storm Household

We had a lot of fun celebrating Lucy's first Valentine's Day last week!!

Here is our little Lovebug:

Best Valentine's gift = cuddles from Daddy!

We made Valentine's cards with pictures of our little peanut to send out to family and friends.

We also made Valentine's for Lucy's playmates at daycare.

Our baby girl made us a Valentine's Card at daycare! So sweet!

Lucy made a picture frame for her Dad at Fired Up Pottery.

We got lots of great gifts from family and friends.

To celebrate the holiday - mama dressed Lucy in hearts all week! I don't have pictures from the entire week - some days Lucy spit up on her little outfit and I didn't get a chance to get a photo. :) Here are the pics that I did capture:

Wearing a hearts onesie and a My First Valentine's Day hat!

Heart + a tutu

Very sweet Auntie is my BFF shirt

On Valentine's morning, Scout escaped from our backyard. She went on a joy-run around the neighborhood. Whenever she gets out Scout heads straight to the railroad tracks near the house and runs up and down the track smelling rabbit scent. She got completely covered with burrs before Daniel tracked her down. Here is a picture of our girl - check out her tail and ears!! Burr central. Crazy pup.

The aftermath in Dan's hand. ugh!!

We hope that all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Love from the Storm family!

Dogs + Art = A Great Sunday

On Sunday we went to visit our friends, the Ruengers, near Wausau. They are Chief's breeders and they are very wonderful and welcoming people! We have known them for about 5 years -- ever since Daniel started searching for a Large Munsterlander. They own Chief's Grandma, Mom, Aunt, Littermate, and other sisters/half sisters! Lots of Munsterlanders! :) They also have a sweet little beagle named Reba. They are trying for 2 more Munsterlander litters this year.

We were excited to introduce them to Lucy and to show them how well Chief was doing after his Addison's Disease diagnosis and treatment. It was great to have lunch with them and catch up. Here is Kathy holding little Lucy! So sweet.

On Sunday evening, we went to Mother Fool's Coffee House to see our friend Bala's art show. Lucy loved the colorful pieces!

It was a busy end to the weekend but lots of fun. :)

Ready to Travel

Exciting news! Lucy's shiny new passport arrived in the mail on Saturday! We are officially ready to travel to Europe this spring. Yay!

Here is our little Twins fan with her passport:

Lucy is 3 months old

Can you believe that our little Lucy is already 3 months old?

Here are some pictures of her on the 3 month mark - February 8th.

She is showing off her amazing grasping skills with her rattle.

Yep - she is almost 14 pounds already! We were finally able to capture her sweet smile in some pictures.

She is not laughing outloud yet but it should be coming soon!

We love our baby girl!

Happy Birthday Scout!

Our little Scout turns 2 years old this month. She is such a good friend/sister dog to Chief, she is very gentle with kids, and she has lots of energy by day and cuddles by night. We love her! Happy Birthday Scout!

Lucy's Superbowl Weekend

Here are some highlights from Superbowl Weekend:

We went to the dog park!

We bundled little Lucy up and headed to the park for exercise. Here she is in her little snowsuit with Dad. Super cute. Thanks again for the snowsuit Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Glen!

Lucy loves rattles now. She can grasp things and shake them in her hands. She also has an awesome little pair of booties with rattles attached.

She loves to kick her little feet wearing these guys.

Here is Lucy after her bath on Sunday.

Mesmerized by the rattle booties.

Daniel and I just stayed at home for the Super Bowl this year. It was pretty quiet. Nothing crazy like last year when we watched the Packers win with Karl & Shoshana in Key West!

(Here is our blog post from Key West if you want a blast from the past.)

We did make some awesome taco dip though! :) Yum.

Back to Work!

As noted in my previous post - little Lucy turned 12 weeks old last week so it was back to work time for mama. It is hard to transition from spending your days with this little sweetheart:

To spending your hours going through email, writing reports, and dealing with customer crises... Boo!

But, I returned to work with a picture of Lucy and my breastpump in my arms. For the first few days we were very lucky to have Lucy's Auntie Mallory, Mallory's Mom Lisa, and cousin Abigail travel to Wisconsin to watch the baby and take care of me and Daniel as we started our new routine. Mallory and Lisa are the best!! They watched our baby, took the girls shopping, cleaned up the house, and made us breakfast and dinner each day. Wow - talk about spoiled! :)

Lucy started at her regular daycare this Monday and is doing great. She is adjusting to her new days better than mama! We get reports each day that she is such a good baby. Her teachers are awesome - I call them each day at noon to check in on Lucy and they give me a little half time report on her nap schedule, bottles, and how her morning playtime is going. So sweet. It is so wonderful to see her smiling face at 5:30 each day!

Lucy and her Auntie Mallory

Cousin Abigail! She loves Chief and Scout! It is so cute to see her interact with the dogs. :)

We had some excitement in our neighborhood while our guests were in town and not in a good way. For those of you who have visited our house or have heard me talk about our neighbohood - you know that it is pretty quiet with the exception of a sketchy 4 plex apartment unit that I hate. Well, I hate it even more now. I wish that everyone who lives there could gather their things, get out safely and that it would burn to the ground. Anyway! There was a shooting there last Wednesday night. Yikes.

Good thing(s): It was not random, the people injured know who did it, and no one died.
Bad thing: There was a shooting close to our house. Where we live. With a baby. Ugh.

Mallory did a full post on the craziness - here is a link to her blog if you want more details/pictures:

Needless to say, our new hobby is looking for a different house! We are trying like crazy to save money for a down payment and we now spend our Sunday afternoons driving around different neighborhoods to check out houses for sale. Wish us luck!!

Thanks again Mallory and Lisa for all of your help last week! What a blessing for us! You are the best. We hope that you visit us again soon despite our sketchy neighborhood!
