Leo @ 9 months old

This sweet little hunk of love turned 9 months old in September!

Leo is crawling and scooting all over the place these days. :) He loves his pup Ranger and getting into all of the big kids' stuff. This quick photo session happened when the boys had their bed and crib in the same room. I had so wanted my boys to share a space but honestly it was a mess and neither kid was sleeping worth crap so we ended up moving Leo's crib downstairs. It turned out to be the best decision! Maybe when they are both a little older we can try again...

We love you little man! I always love the 9 month milestone because that means your precious babe has spent as much time out in the world as they did in your belly. :)
xoxo to our Leo

Fall Updates

This fall both of the big kids played ball at the YMCA on Sunday nights!

Roman participated in Super Hoopers basketball this season. Roman needs to keep exercising, otherwise his energy turns into naughty behavior ... so some Sunday night b-ball is just what we need to keep our household running smoothly. :)

On this day he took a tumble from his scooter earlier in the afternoon, hence all of the Packers band-aids lined up on his arm.

Love this little b-baller of mine!

Leo has no shortage of snacks while watching from the bleachers.

Lucy played volleyball with the Awesome Aces team.

I can't say that Lucy was the biggest fan of volleyball but she stuck with it through the season so we are proud of her and her perseverance.

Here is our girl working on her spikes! She loved standing on that tall block.

In late September, this little boy was on the move!

Leo started crawling all over the place! Watch out!

The best place to practice newfound crawling skills? Roman's basketball court, of course!

Since Leo's daycare is at the YMCA, he gets some free time at the gym during the day. :) His teachers often take the babes to the racquetball court which is always a favorite place for the little kids to yell and hear their own echoes!

Speaking of daycare, here is a piece of Leo's fall art collection. He is working on managing crayons in his hot little hands. This Mickey Mouse is Leo's first coloring project. Love it!

This September our dear family friends, the Wesley's, came to visit. We love it when people stop by to see our family! :) Gloria was my mom's best friend from college and she is my godmother. We used to go on vacations together with the Wesley crew when I was a little girl so I have lots of memories of camping, Minnesota Twins games, swimming at the lake, and Glacier National Park adventures with this family. My kids love having a new audience to show off for and they provided lots of entertainment for Gloria and Tom on this afternoon. Hah!

We spent fall afternoons at the playground while Lucy had gymnastics class. Nothing better than a sunny and crisp autumn day! :)

We visited the library and played with the toys in the children's area.

We got ice cream from Ramone's and popped outside so that Lucy could get a picture with her favorite Eau Claire street mural in the background. Don't you love how Roman is giving himself bunny ears? #LittleBrotherProblems

This fall we also got a new couch for our basement! After a dozen or so years of service, we switched out our TV watching couch with a new piece of furniture.  Yay!

No worries, the kids promptly devoured popcorn on it and broke it in. This is why we can't have nice things at our house! ;)

Roman and I attended the semi-annual children's consignment sale in Eau Claire. One of my favorite days of the year. Haha! I looked at winter clothes for the kids while Romy focused on the toy tables. No surprise there!

My bright & beautiful 2nd grader worked on her writing and illustrations during the month of September.

She illustrated a piece about her favorite event of the summer - canoeing with her Daddy and Grandpa Ken. Don't you love that Ken only has 6 hairs on his head for this drawing? So cute!

She also worked on some opinion writing on topics such as her favorite snack. Who doesn't love a smoothie, am I right? :)

Roman often sleeps with a hundred of his favorite studies at night.  I had to snap a picture and I couldn’t help but compare to the famous scene in the movie E.T....

Who wore it best?

Finally, in classic Storm child style, we had skin issue challenges in late September. Leo had a couple of bug bites plus the usual eczema hot spots and daycare was concerned. So I brought him into his pediatrician for a quick once over and a note to allow Mr. Leo back in school. After confirming that the issues were bug bites and/or eczema, we were given a  clean bill of health and a note to go back to school! Whew!

Never sad to spend some extra time with my sweet LeoBear!

Sunday Funday

Sundays in fall are for Packer watching!

How cute are my little fans?

As a side note, here is the best treat to eat while watching football - popcorn mixed with candy corn. Dan thinks that it is disgusting but I live for this stuff each fall! Love it. :)

One special Sunday in September we were able to head to an orchard after the game and meet up with Brian, Amelia, and the boys + Grandma Nola and Grandpa Ken for some apple picking. We love living closer to our family! We had to start off our time at the orchard with an apple cider donut!

We waited for our crew to arrive from Roseville.

When everyone arrived, we hopped on a hayride.

The workers gave us a ride to the harvesting area. It was a hot & sunny autumn Sunday.

We picked apples with the cousins.

And we ate our fair share of fruit too. Especially Roman! ;) We always tell him that he is a fruit bat. Haha!

Even our littlest boys had the best afternoon at the orchard.

After our harvest we returned to EC with Grandma Nola & Grandpa Ken. I had a work trip that week and they graciously agreed to be an extra set of hands with Dan while I was gone. It was going to be the first time that I spent time away from this sweet boy since he was born. I had work trips when Lucy and Romy were both much younger babes but it is never easy to leave kiddos for the first time! I mean just look at Leo's little face! Good thing that I love my job and love going back to the Northwoods.

Having Grandma & Grandpa at the house is always a treat for our big kids - Roman is the king of Ticket to Ride and he loves to play with his grandparents. He was the big winner on this night!

Happy Fall!

September Happenings

September was a month full of hugs and kisses with my eldest son. :)

Too early for Halloween jammies? We don't care! My kindergartener loves all things fall and Halloween.

Baby Leo continues to grow and is at that sweet spot where he can sit up and play but can't run away!

My big kids walk down the street to catch the bus in the mornings; they are adjusting really well to life at a new elementary school.

Lucy still loves to wear a unicorn headband to school. And Roman will still put on his Dab Cat shirt for class. Good stuff.

We sent the big kids to a Parents Night Out event at Roman's martial arts studio so Dan, the baby and I were able to have a date night.

We went to a Mexican restaurant for some delicious food and drink.

Here are my handsome guys without a margarita blocking the view! Haha!

I mean - look at these plates! This place specializes in seafood dishes so the fish tacos were top notch and the sea food nachos were amazing!

The kids had a great night too - Lucy and Roman learned all kids of Kyuki-Do moves, they had pizza, and participated in contests. Roman won the competition for the longest hold of a horse stance. I asked him to show me the move and here is what he did -

See that sweet little trophy in his right hand? Roman was super proud!

Is there anything better than a farmers market in late summer/early fall? I don't think so!

We love spending our Saturday mornings at the market - picking up produce and getting breakfast on a lazy day is the best...

Especially on a sunny, September morning. :)
