After a sweet visit with Great Grandma Storm; we zipped back to Mom and Dad's house to gather our things and get ready for Hoekman family weekend.
Leo was a happy camper as he sported his puffin onesie. Just one year earlier Dan and I were traveling in Iceland and we bought this little shirt for the tiny baby that was growing in my belly. It is so awesome to see our little Leo sitting up and wearing this puffin today! Love this baby boy with my whole heart!
This year our family rented a home in Iowa for a very special weekend - we were able to celebrate Mom and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary!!
Getting squeezes from Auntie is the best!
The house was situated at the end of a gravel road so it was very quiet. I was sitting on the porch when I noticed a creepy conversion van winding down the dead end road. I was just in the process of telling the kids to stay away when I found out that it was my brother Kevin and Katie! Hahaha! They were borrowing this vehicle as their own van was in the shop!
Lucy, Abby, & Anna quickly found their space in the cabin and decorated their room.
Spending time with the cousins is the best!
As we do each year, we celebrated the August Birthdays (Grandma Sharon, Jules, & Roman)! This year we included Anna's July birthday on the cake. :)
Nothing says August like grilled food, corn on the cob, watermelon, red solo cups, and cousins!
Happy Birthday to some of our August favorites!
As part of his birthday gift from Uncle Austin, Auuntie Mallory and family, Roman got a couple of whoopee cushions. Good grief - do you want to talk about pure joy for a new 6 year old? Romy was over the moon! Hahaha!
The Whoopie Cushions came in a pack of 2 and neither one of them survived the weekend but wowza did they provide a lot of laughs. Thanks for the fun present!
