Typical Summer Weekend ...

We spent many weekends on the road this summer, we could do the trip from Rhinelander to Eau Claire in our sleep. Hah! Our typical summer weekend looked a little like this: We would cart van & pickup loads of our belongings down to Eau Claire on Friday nights, spend Saturday unpacking and managing the kiddos, and head back up North on Sundays to start a new week of work and summer camp. Whew!

During our free time, Leo worked on refining his sitting skills.

He also played with new found toys in his sister's room.

We delighted in the fact that we were closer than 50 miles to the nearest Target. Haha! It's the little things!

The big kids found tons of tiny frogs around the neighborhood. They would bring fistfuls of these little guys home to show mom and dad.

Just look at these happy collectors!

During one of these trips misfortune struck and we got a flat tire on the way home to Rhinelander. Insert big frowny face here. Of course the flat was on the van which was full of dogs and kids. Insert heavy sigh here. Luckily Dan was not too far behind us and he assisted in the rescue mission. It was a race against time as the skies were about a second away from a giant thunderstorm the entire time that Dan was working on the tire. We managed to stay dry but the mosquitos were awful and I found ticks on my body after the incident. Ugh! It was a very annoying experience but it could have been worse - we were glad that everyone was safe and that we were able to hit the road shortly.

All doors of the vehicle open = not a good situation when the air is thick with mosquitos!

We needed to hustle back to Rhinelander because we had a goodbye party with this crew!

We will miss the O'Casey family and wish them well as they start a new chapter in San Antonio, Texas!

Happy summer!

Celebrating the big 3-9

Well, my 39th Birthday was definitely not relaxing ... we spent the weekend moving most of our worldly possessions to beautiful Eau Claire, Wisconsin! Hah!

Daniel is transitioning to the DNR office in Eau Claire and my work agreed to let me work remotely! Yay! I am very grateful to have meaningful work and for the opportunity to continue with Forest County Potawatomi as we are on the cusp on many exciting projects. We found a great place on the north side of Eau Claire and are very excited to be closer to our family. :)

I am one lucky lady with these kids by my side. So grateful for another trip around the sun!

We didn't have all work and no play - we had to celebrate the other June birthdays in our family! Uncle Brian has the first birthday of the month.

And our sweet baby Neal turned one this year!

I couldn't celebrate a birthday without having some Frozen Tundra Ice Cream! Go Pack go!

Strawberry shortcake was on the menu as well.

Our kids are loving our big yard and spent time running through the sprinkler.

The only thing better than sprinkler fun? Sprinkler time with a cousin!! Thanks for coming to visit us, James!

We painted in the kids' rooms before moving all of their furniture into the space. Lucy was so pumped to have a pink room!

Grandma Nola helped with this house project. She is the best!!

The kiddos were glad to have some cousin time as well.

And we didn't make Grandma Nola work the entire weekend!! Baby Leo got some snuggle time too.

How sweet are these boys! We hope that Leo and Neal will be college roommates someday. Haha!

Roman opted to paint his room blue.

We played with our new neighbors too. The family next door has three kids - Abby, Evan, and Anna. Our kids cannot believe that we are so lucky to have neighbors with the same names as 2 of our cousins. Hahaha!

Roman and Evan played with sidewalk chalk and Army guys.

Lucy, Abby, and Anna were playing with Barbies underneath their Umbrella shelter. It makes my heart so happy to see my kids playing with their neighbors!

Biggest event of the weekend? Our sweet little man started sitting on his own!

We did have a pillow fortress surrounding him just in case...

...but he did a great job by himself!

Oh man do I love those couple of months where babies are sitting on their own but are not crawling away from you quite yet!

A huge thanks to the Storm and Cihacek families for helping us move into our new place!
Dan and I have had 2 major moves plus 2 rental spaces over the past 10 years and we could not do it without help from our fam!!!

Wowza - I think back to our move from downtown Madison rentals into our first house on Powers Avenue ... we moved everything we owned in the back of Dan's pickup! Insert Mind blown emoji here! One wedding, three kids, many hobbies, and a decade of life later ... we have a lot more stuff. Thank goodness that our family still helps us and accepts reimbursements in pizza and beer! Haha!

Father's Day Weekend 2019

We couldn't wait to celebrate our Dad this year, Dan's first Father's Day as a Papa of three!

Oh yeah, we can't forget our 4th baby, Ranger!!

Here's one of just the boys! Love these guys to the moon and back!

We kicked off Father's Day by giving our Dad some quiet time. I pushed the kiddos out the door for some scooting.

These two spent time scooting ...

...while I walked with this little mister in the stroller.

After our family had a delicious breakfast we gave Leo his first bites of food.

I *think* that he enjoyed it! :)

Romy drew his Dad some Star Wars art.

And we made a family trip to Home Depot.

We had to pick out some paints for the children's bedrooms in Eau Claire.

We are so very thankful for Daniel and the Dads in our life! Love you all!

Technically this photo is from the soccer game on the Monday evening following Father's Day but it was too cute not to slip in this post!

June Updates

Real life ... our little Girl Scout had a end of year celebration and bridging ceremony from Daisies to Brownies so mama had to scramble the night before to iron on all of her badges!

No worries, we got all of the badges in their spots and Lucy was all set to bridge up to Brownies.

A huge shout out to Stevie for leading this troop of girls!

And, just like that, we have a Brownie on our hands!

After the ceremonies, all of the Scouts and their families had dinner and played at the park.

Of course we had dessert too!

These girls had a great year - I am so glad that Lucy Bear loves Scouting as much as I did when I was a girl!

What else were we up to in June? Well, we found some moths!

We worked on some Nature Art.

Leon kicked off Father's Day weekend by giving Daddy some 'Pop'corn.

We love our Papa Storm!

Dan and I had a date night in mid June with the sweetest little third wheel! The big kids went to Parent's Night Out at the YMCA and we headed out to dinner downtown and had drinks with Jeff and Jillian. Leo tagged along for the evening.

Brown Street 151 is one of favorite spots in downtown Rhinelander.

We visited Catalyst Wine while our little guy took a rest. :)

We love getting out in the sunshine during our June weekends. On this day we had a picnic at the park.

Lucy's Girl Scout leader Stevie gave her a soap making kit at the Bridging event.

Of course Lucy was excited to get the soap party started!

She added a little glitter, some color, and loved every minute.

Happy June!
