We kicked off April by removing our St. Patrick's Day decorations and replacing with Easter crafts. This 'Leo as a Leprechaun' artwork was created at daycare and it is honestly a little creepy! It is his picture and face but with some sort of weird filter with his eyes/eyebrows. Yikes.
I have had these precious Easter bunny and eggs for years - ever since Lucy and Roman's days at the CLC. I love them so much and will continue to hand them up each spring until I am 100. ;)
Both of the big kids are at a perfect age for April Fools Day jokes. One of Lucy's teachers handed out a permission slip to SKIP school on April 1st, 2023 - It was even signed by their principal! The children were so excited until they realized that April 1 falls on a Saturday in 2023. Haha! Mr. Scott also had a big aluminum pan and was handing out brown letter E's to the kids after school. Roman most definitely put that brownie joke in his memory for future use. ;)
In other news - Roman has expanded his drawing repertoire to include other singers besides KISS - please see Freddie Mercury & David Bowie.
Leo enjoyed his first tricycle rides of the season.
Leo had been having a series of tummy issues and we visited the doctor in April. Sick kiddos are no joke - happy to report that he was just fine.
We made our annual family visit to see all of the animal babies at Govin's Farm. Love these little lambs jumping on their mamas' backs!
The Farm was packed! Everyone was eager to hold these little chicks.
Sweet little cheeping babies!
I was nervous about Leo loving on this chick a little too much but he did a good job!
This mama pig was about to give birth any day! Oof - she looks like she is done being pregnant!
The children were thrilled to snuggle with little piggies.
Next up were the lambs!
Cuteness overload!
This little guy was almost as big as Leo!
It was hard to get these kids out of the barn - they had the best morning on the farm!
We popped outside to see goats and tractors.
Other early April happenings included Roman making muffins for breakfast.
Leo had the members of KISS in his little school bus; it looks like they were on a field trip to visit the Shedd Aquarium.
Here are some of Leo's latest creations from day care - he loves to use those eyeball stickers.
Painting is the best!
Leo adores the crew in Ms. Sara's room
We enjoyed some sunny April days at Jeffers Park.
Happy Spring from Leo!
Here are some books we were reading in April. I remember reading I am a Bunny and The Runaway Bunny when I was a kiddo.
Lucy wrapped up the Girl Scout cookie selling season by working a booth in Festival Foods.
We celebrated the beginning of baseball by wearing Twins gear and getting new gloves for the big kids.
Finally, in anticipation of the holiday - the kids and I went to swim with 5000 Easter eggs at the YMCA pool.
Leo loved it!
What a fun afternoon at the pool!
Happy April. :)
