Late March / Early April Happenings

We got back to Wisconsin and Roman promptly got sick! Ugggg! We ended up laying low for our first few days back home. Lucy and Leo embraced the spring weather and played outside quite a bit. We busted out the sidewalk chalk.

Leo worked on some spring painting projects. He is loving his strider bike this season.

We finally got Lucy her long anticipated birthday gift - a new bike. How cute is this turquoise cruiser? I have to admit that I am a little jealous! I love this bike and want one just like it. Haha!

Our church had a talent show at the end of March and Roman, without any prompting, quickly signed up to participate! He was excited to play his guitar. Luckily, he did recover from his sickness in time to play.

He was definitely the youngest person in the show by several decades but his did an awesome job with his guitar riffs. The audience loved it!

Here is our little Rock star!

We zipped through the Dairy Queen drive through on the way home to celebrate. Gotta love a Dilly Bar, even if there is still snow on the ground! ;)

These boys sure love visiting pet stores! Every chance we get, Roman begs to pop in to see the leopard geckos and other critters. We dropped Lucy off at dance and zipped over to Petco.

Love this picture of Roman lifting up his little bro to get a better view of the guinea pigs. :) This piece of St. Patrick's Day artwork also came home in his folder recently - it says, I feel Lucky when 'I go to the pet store and get to be with animals'. Awwwwww!

March means it is time for Lent and a good ol' Wisconsin fish fry! We went out for a family dinner at Houligans on a Friday night at it did not disappoint. Yum! (Well, maybe the kids were a little disappointed - you can see that Leo's plate was empty except for a lone dinner roll. Ai yi yi.) Also - you can't have a fish fry without and Old Fashioned, am I right?

After supper the boys headed home while these 2 ladies and I went to the Pablo to see Little Women. It was such a fun performance!

Now that spring is in the air, the kids are starting their baseball and softball clinics. We are so excited for the upcoming ball season.

Roman was sick so his missed his buddy Asher's birthday party and sleepover. Roman was pretty bummed but we got to have a 'make up' event and had Asher over for a post-baseball clinic playdate. These two are such goofballs.

Asher is just a bit older than Roman which means they cannot be on the same baseball team - dang! But I am glad that they still enjoy hanging out.

He loves axolotls! :)

Speaking of birthday celebrations - we had a belated party for Grandpa Ken as well! The Cihaceks came over so postponed by a weekend to clear the germs out of our household.

We always have a lot of fun with Grammy Nola and the cousins. We finished up Roman's kitty musicians puzzle from Valentine's Day.

We enjoyed a brew ...

and snuggled with a baby - best weekend ever! ;)

Just a couple of cousins with their dragon stuffies.

Look at this beautiful German chocolate cake that Amelia made for the occasion.

Happy 71st Birthday Ken!

This weekend also happened to be Palm Sunday so the big kids had to help with a special breakfast after services.

As a side note - this is my favorite piece of Palm Sunday artwork. This was a drawing that Lucy did during COVID times and I still hang it up during Easter time. :)

You can see that the favorite part of our breakfast was the fruit!

All of these boys were being very silly.

For some reason the Storm kids don't enjoy cleaning and tidying in our own kitchen but they love helping in the church kitchen. Go figure! Here is Roman and his dishwashing partner Daniel.

We cleaned up after the Palm Sunday breakfast and then it was back to our regularly scheduled programming of cousin time.

Later that afternoon the children found their bunny ears! They are excited for Easter. ;)

Lucy spent Palm Sunday afternoon selling Girl Scout cookies in the grocery store lobby. She sold a lot of boxes during her shift! Leo was along for the ride and spent his time eating snacks, playing with his toys, reading, and steering this grocery cart.

Roman had another gig - he played guitar for the kids at Rachel's Place as part of the Week of the Young Child - Music Monday.

Here he is with the older, school-aged kids and Ms. Ruth.

Roman played for the young children too - they even wheeled down the babies to listen. So cute!

Here is another picture taken by Ms. Leanne.

In April Leo and I visited the fire station so that I could vote in the spring election.

Doing my best to keep our state Supreme Court from going off the rails!

After I voted, I drove up to Crandon for some onsite time at work. I love going up North - it is always so good to see my co-workers in person. On this night I went out for dinner with Jessica and Mark. :)

I had some extra time in the evening so, while I was sitting in my hotel room, I started putting together a notebook full of details on our upcoming trip to Italy. Our parents were set to watch the kiddos during our vacation so needed to get a bunch of information ready for them. Yay!

When I returned to Eau Claire from my time up North, I picked up Leo from Grandpa and Grammy's place. He was deeply engaged in a puzzle with Ken.

The big kids had a special treat that evening - they went to a Queen tribute concert with their Dad! The lead singer was the man who did all of the music for the recent Bohemian Rhapsody movie.

Lucy, Roman and Dan said it was an awesome show - they all came home singing We Are the Champions! LOL!

Gotta love those Queen shirts and Freddie Mercury mustaches! :)
