Father's Day in Green Bay

As previously posted, we headed to Green Bay to escape the torrential rains of Door County. Once we got there, the heavens opened up and the sun shone down! We booked a hotel room that was very close to Lambeau field.

After a swim in the pool, we went to Glassnickel Pizza for supper.

Yum! This place is the best!

After dinner we went across the street to a playground to play on the the monkey bars.

Roman was balancing in this picture.

They had some fun spinning toys in the park too.

We stayed dry all night and went straight to Bay Beach on Sunday morning. No better place to spend Fathers Day!

It was a h-o-t day! You can see that Roman was getting sweaty even though it was only 1000 in the morning!

As usual, we rode the train!

Lucy and Roman enjoyed the carousel. You can see Roman on the warthog in this picture ... Lucy is kind of hidden on our favorite Packers horse!

Everyone’s favorite ride this year was the giant slide!

Roman and Daddy went down together since Romy is little too short to go on his own.

Lucy was able to zip down on her own!

We did a couple of our old favorites like the fighter pilot ride!

Then Lucy was turned away from a bunch of rides and we realized that our little peanut is growing up!!! Lucy is just over 50 inches tall and is above the max height for some kiddie rides! Slow down time!

Roman enjoyed some of the kiddie rides on his own!

Daniel and Lucy enjoyed some Daddy-daughter time on the Ferris wheel.

We tried the bumper cars for the first time and the kids loved them!

After a couple hours of rides we were ready for some cold drinks and a picnic!

It was another awesome day at Bay Beach!

We drove home and celebrated Daniel! Our favorite Dad. :) Check out this sweet note that Roman made for his Daddy. I love the part where he says that Dan’s favorite food is buck meat! Hahahaha!

We had a delicious meal of shrimp, green beans and smashed cauliflower. Yum!

As always, we send lots of love to our own Dads on Father’s Day! We love you Grandpa Ken!

And here is a throwback of Grandpa Glen! Love you, Dad!

Happy Father’s Day everyone!

Door County

We headed to beautiful Door County for Father's Day weekend this year!
Here is a throwback to our last visit to Peninsula State Park in 2016. :)

We arrived with high hopes ... we had driven through many miles of torrential rain and arrived in Fish Creek on Friday afternoon.

The rain stopped just long enough for us to set up the tent and make dinner.

The kids were able to do a little bit of bike riding and tree climbing around the camp ground.

We even visited the boat launch on Green Bay for a minute (Roman ended up slipping and falling on his bottom shortly after this picture! Mama did not pack another sweatshirt for him so we hiked back to the park headquarters and got him a new one!)

Lucy set up 'her side of the tent', took pictures of her decor with my phone, and quickly declared it 'Totes Adorbs!' Where does she learn this stuff!?!

It poured all night long! We did have a sliver of sunshine on Saturday morning.

But then the heavens opened up and it poured all morning long with no end in sight. Insert frowny face here. By noon, we were feeling crabby and wet so we headed to town for lunch and to get some reception as we needed to check the forecast.

Roman needed to be carried to the restaurant because he was taking a nap!

It felt so good to eat warm food and to stay dry for a bit!

We were looking at the radar and debating on what to do next when I started to get flash flood warnings on my phone...
Dan and I decided that it was time to bail! The kids were disappointed to leave but when we told them that we would stay in a hotel in Green Bay that night - they quickly perked up! ;)

Before we left Door County, we made a quick stop for ice cream.

Our weekend definitely did not go as planned but that's the way it goes sometimes!!
More to come on our time in Green Bay in an upcoming post ...

Little Mermaid

The kids and I headed to Wausau recently to see The Little Mermaid at the theater!
We stopped at Great Dane for dinner first and these two were overjoyed to get some root beer. ;)

We ate dinner...

...and headed to the show! We had great seats, just a couple of rows from the orchestra pit.

It was a beautiful evening so we stretched our legs outside during intermission.

Apologies for the poor picture quality but here is a selfie from the show. The kids loved singing along with Under the Sea and Kiss the Girl! What a fun event! :)
