House Hunting!

In early October Daniel and I went house hunting up North! We took Roman with us and we were very lucky that Grandma Nola came to Madison for the weekend to watch our Lucy Bear. She is the best!! We have taken Lucy to see houses in the past and it has been a small nightmare! :) We took her with us to a showing once and, I swear I took my eyes off of her for 30 seconds and she shows up holding a marker and coaster. She is always finding treasures... She also tends to become very attached to swingsets. Haha!

We spent Friday afternoon looking at places in Tomahawk and Saturday morning looking in Rhinelander. We saw some great places and we also saw some, um, creative decorating. Check out the aquatic decor in this bathroom. Pretty awesome wallpaper, huh? :)

While we didn't choose the house with the fishtank bathroom, we did find a home that we love! We are excited to say that we have an accepted offer on a house just outside of Rhinelander! We are planning to move sometime in late winter/early spring.

Here is a picture of our new place! I will post some more photos after we go up for our house inspection in November. We are super excited!

A beautiful fall!

I was so blessed to have such a beautfiul autumn during my maternity leave! September and early October were perfect - it was so easy to get the kids outside, no bundling up invovled! Lucy and Roman l-o-v-e going to the parks in our neighborhood so we spent lots of time climbing around on jungle gyms and going on walks over the past few months.

Here are some pictures from the end of September - Lucy is sporting a stamp from story hour. Ms Lesley has a new stamp each week that corresponds to a story or poem. Lucy often asks for one on each arm. :) On this day she is sporting a little sheep.

Play time at the park! If you look to the right of Lucy, you will see a little steering wheel. My child is in love with that thing! She pretends like she is driving the garbage truck, occasionally a bus or mama's car, but 90% of the time, it is a garbage truck. :)

Roman snoozing in Mama's front pack. I just love my cuddly little guy!

Here is a picture from a recent walk. Things have definitely changed in the past month, the air is much more crisp and our walks outside are more brisk these days. Our little peanut is all bundled up with his hat and car seat cover. :)

Happy Fall!

Coats

A quick post of my kids in some my favorite coats!

Lucy has a sweet heart filled rain jacket that she loves to wear when it is sprinkling outside. It was a great little consignment store find but, alas, she is quickly growing out of it. Here are some photos of Lucy sporting her raincoat during a recent rainy autumn day.

All smiles!

What a sweetheart!

Our Roman has a great Paddington coat. Another nice consignment find!  I love the color and style, he looks like such a cute little guy in it!  It is a 3 month size and he is already growing out of it. :(

Our boy in blue!

What a cute little man!

Roman is 1 month old (Delayed Post!)

Wow! Talk about a hiatus! Sorry about the lack of posts recently. Things have been crazy (but in a great way) at the Storm household. We have been busy with the kids (lots of pictures and posts to come) we have been house hunting up North (spoiler alert - we have an accepted offer on a house! We are planning to move to Rhinelander late winter/early spring.), Daniel's sister Amelia got married (we traveled to North Dakota for the celebration! It was awesome!) and our babies are growing - Roman turned 2 months old a few days ago and Miss Lucy will be 2 years old in less than 2 weeks.

Blast from the past - here are pictures from Roman's one month mark! Our big guy is doing great. At one month he weighed in at slightly over 10 pounds! He is such an awesome baby, super calm and just goes with the flow. Roman loves sitting in his swing, eating, and watching his sister and dogs. We love our little man so much!

Roman also loves doing his baby exercises which consist of punches and kicks. Here he is punching at the toy bar from his chair.

More posts coming soon!!

Lucy's First Visit to the Dentist

Lucy recently had her first visit to the dentist! We were able to make some changes to our insurance plans after Roman was born so we decided it was a good time to add her to our dental policy. Yep - she is almost 2 so it time to get those teeth checked out. I have terrible teeth and Dan has awesome teeth - let's hope that she does not inherit the Hoekman genes for oral health!

So the kids and I arrived to the dentist and spent some time in the waiting room. Unfortunately there were no toys or children's books/magazines there but Lucy didn't care, she picked up a People magazine and started flipping through the pages. She is her mother's daughter! Nothing like some celebrity gossip to pass time in waiting rooms! :)

When we were ushered back, Lucy was all smiles. We sat in the chair for about 10 seconds before she started yelling 'All Done!' 'All Done!' I had to remind her that the dentist still needed to look in her mouth.

When the dentist took a peek in her mouth, tears were definitely shed. It was very fast though and afterward Lucy got a bag of goodies - toothbrushes, paste, floss! Lucy saw that the dentist was wearing gloves and said, 'Glove?' so the dentist gave her 1 glove. Then, classic Lucy, she says, '2 gloves?' so she ended up with latex gloves for both of her little hands. :) The dentist said that Lucy should consider being a dentist for Halloween and gave her a mask too. Lucy was super excited. She wanted to wear her new costume right away and gave everyone high fives on the way out of the office. Now she keeps asking to go back! :)

Yay for oral hygiene!
